Secret Six #33
After all experiencing their own little piece of Hell...

Poor Mr. Shark.

...Ragdoll gives up the card and they escape Hell virtually without any coincidences. Except that Lady Blaze, the ruler of Hell, knows what is happening to Scandal Savages other current girlfriend up on Earth. If they leave and use the get out of Hell card on her ex then there is a very good chance that her current girl will be down in Hell very soon. A nice little touch. The trip to Hell hasn't been as eventful as it felt it would be. The storytelling favors the more bonkers missions and great funny dialogue of random missions and not a series trip to Hell. It feels like the wrong tone for the book in my opinion. You can't take Catman's visit to check his father is rotting in hell for the murder of his mother seriously when its got undertones of humour. Art sets the tone a lot better but this just feels like an odd story to me. Not one I can get into as well as the last few.

Superboy #7
Superboy touches some alien plant on an abandoned spaceship that was headed for Earth and Smallville, which makes him get lost in his own mind and imagine all the evil things he could do with his powers.

Rather oddly Psionic boy saves him, even though it was hinted at that he was from the future to destroy him and could have just left him there to die. Does this mean he's changed his mind? This series is full of one or two part stories and although it doesn't quite capture the magic of the golden age comics it definitely has a lot of the ideals and almost cliches of a one part story telling device and an eccentric cast of characters.
