Power Man and Iron Fist #1
The Powerman tie-in to lack-luster event Shadowland, was the only one I read. Not even picking up the main series, just the tie in as it was recommendation. It introduced a new Powerman and ended with Iron Fist deciding to train him. Now I also love a bit of Iron Fist, having read the entire last run. So I am glad to see the return of both characters in a retro book twist.
A strange start. Trouble between Master and student, lots of racist jokes from the black Power Man. Not wanting to call Iron Fist master as it's racist. A villain whom was depicted with nothing but solid black ink, and the following dialogue "Protect your people" "What, you black under all that too?" "No I am Noir!" So yeah if the Black jokes keep up this street language and stuff could get boring. Other than that the two of them start a case to find out who really killed Crime-buster, as Jennie Royce (The old Power Man and Iron Fist's manager) is locked up in Rykers prison, framed as a murderer.
My favorite Villain panel of the week:
